Offline (manual) license activation
Manage your License through the command line
If Unity can’t contact the license server, you can’t activate your license using the Unity Hub or the command line. Typical reasons for failing to connect to the license server include: you don’t have access to the internet; your firewall or proxy settings are blocking the connection; or the Unity license servers are down. For more information, see Activation issues.
When online activation fails, you can try to manually activate Unity on your machine. You still need access to a machine with internet access, but it does not have to be the machine on which you are trying to activate Unity.
To manually activate your Unity license, follow this process:
- Generate a license activation file () from the command line. For example, .
- Use that file to request a Unity license file () from Unity’s license server.
- Use that file to activate your license in Unity from the command line.

On macOS, enter the following into the Terminal (replacing with the actual installation location, such as ):

Now you are ready to request a Unity license () file.

After you generate a license activation () file, the next step is to request your Unity license () file from the license server:
Go to aunds-abbruch.de and make sure you’re signed in to your Unity ID. This is necessary to request a Unity license file.
Use the same browser session to go to aunds-abbruch.de The Manual activation page appears.
Note: If you experience issues accessing this page, try pasting into your browser’s address bar.
Select the Browse button to locate the license activation () file you already generated using your system’s file browser.
If the upload was successful and Unity detected that the file you chose was a license activation file, the filename appears in the text box with a green checkmark. If you see a red X instead, try again.
Select the Next button. The Activate your license webpage appears.
Select which license type you are activating:
- If you select the Unity Plus or Pro option, enter the Serial Number you received in an email when you purchased a single license. You need to enter the key in the exact format that it appears in the email. For example, .
- If you select the Unity Personal option, you must select the option which best describes your current situation.
Select the Next button. The Download license file webpage appears.
Select the Download license file button.
Allow downloads for the aunds-abbruch.de webpage if your system prompts you.
Open your browser’s downloads location and look for the new Unity license file with the extension.
Now you are ready to activate your Unity license from the command line.

If Unity displays an error message that the license activation was not successful, check Activation issues to find a solution for your issue.

Manage your License through the command line
Activation and Management
Once a license is obtained, customers can activate your software. Whether your customers' computers are directly connected to the Internet or in very remote or disconnected environments, you can allow customers to activate software licenses however you prefer:
- Direct online activation
- Indirect activation through a nearby computer with Internet access for disconnected devices
- Offline activation through an exchange of codes for very remote/disconnected computers.
- Volume license activation for mass distributing software without fingerprinting (Protection PLUS 5 SDK required)
Electronic License Activation
You can set the parameters around activation using the Electronic License Activation (ELA) options.
- Set rules for activation, re-activation, and license transfer
- Custom license parameters with near-limitless extensibility
- Extend an evaluation or subscription-based license for an additional period of time
- Permit access to selected modules of a modular application
- Facilitates conversion of upgrades (e.g. immediately move up to the Platinum Edition from the Gold Edition upon receipt of payment)
Electronic License Management
Electronic License Management (ELM) is also a core feature of SOLO Server, which allows you to maintain control of your software after it leaves your possession. After a license has been activated, your software can be configured to periodically validate with SOLO Server, which allows you to update or revoke a license, as well as secure enforce license transfers.
Activation
The heart of the software licensing and copy protection is product activation. View the Activation overview video for a quick summary of how this process works:
Every copy of your software must be activated when installed on a new computer or network. Each license is assigned a number of Activations Left, and each time the customer activates the software on a new computer, it decrements the Activation Left count. SOLO Server can log both online and offline activations, and allows you to view details of the activation history for each license.
Creating, maintaining, and distributing different builds of your application, where each build fulfills a unique set of licensing requirements, can result in a significant amount of unnecessary effort. Instead, activation allows a single build of your application to change the state of the license for a computer, network, and/or tailored licensing requirements.
Background Checking / Validation with SOLO Server
Background checking, or validation with SOLO Server, gives you more control over the use of your licensed software. Once a customer has activated with a License ID, your software can validate against that same License ID in SOLO Server.
Using one of our licensing clients, you will configure your software to periodically check in with SOLO Server. You can configure it to validate with SOLO Server after X days, which can fail silently, and also optionally configure a required check which must be completed after Y days. This gives you the control of forcing validations with the server, while also giving the customer some flexibility in case they don't always have an Internet connection.
Imagine you are using SOLO Server's e-commerce features, you sell a license for your application, the customer activates it, and a few weeks later you find the license was purchased with a stolen or lost credit card. Another scenario could be that a customer has called and activated your application, and is requesting a new activation claiming his or her original computer is broken and had to be replaced.
You can configure your software to automatically check with SOLO Server periodically to verify the status of the license. Should you encounter situations like the ones described above, you can disable an individual system previously activated or disable the entire license (and all systems activated with it), and rest easy that the system revoked will soon no longer be able to run (see the deactivation section below for more details).
Additionally, some applications may require time-limited licenses which are activated (known as periodic or lease licenses). SOLO Server's rich e-commerce features can help you automate accepting payments (even automatic, recurring payment) while making it possible for your software to automatically update its expiration date. So for example, let's say your customers may only use the licensed application or service for 30 days before payment is necessary again. Once the next payment is processed after 30 days, your application can automatically check for a new expiration date without requiring customers to go through the process of activating again. This level of automation gives you and your users the simplest and most convenient experience possible.
Deactivation & Transfer
License deactivation can apply to a specific activated installation or to all activated installations of a License ID. Requiring periodic background checks with SOLO Server allow you to securely enforce license deactivation.
When a single installation is deactivated, it automatically increments the Activations Left count for that particular License ID. This allows the customer to activate again on another computer, effectively transferring the activation.
You must enable the Allow DeactivationsProduct Option setting, and the License ID must have at least one Deactivation Left before an installation can be deactivated.
There are three ways to deactivate:
Deactivate through the Application
A deactivate option can be added to your software to allow the customer to conveniently transfer a license. Internet access is required, and upon success, the local license file is immediately updated to an unlicensed status, and the Activations Left count of the License ID is incremented.
It is important for your application to require periodic background checks with SOLO Server, as this with catch the case of the customer restoring a backup of the deactivated license file.
Deactivate through the Customer License Portal
You can enable an option that allows the customer to remotely deactivation through the Customer License Portal. This is useful in case the customer no longer has access to the device that needs to be deactivated.
Deactivate through the Author Interface
Whether you give your customer the option to deactivate or not, you still have the ability to deactivate installations or entire licenses through the author interface. Change the Status of the License ID to deactivate all installations, or go to the Activation History to deactivate a particular installation.
Click the Audio Mixer button on the right hand side of the main interface to bring up the Audio Mixer tab as shown below.
Each fader also includes an Audio Level Meter for the Left and Right channels respectively.
Detach Button
The Audio Mixer can be detached from the main vMix window by clicking the Pin button.
To dock the Audio Mixer back again, click the Minimise button of the detached Audio Mixer window.
Outputs
The Master audio mix is displayed here alongside Bus A and B if they have been configured.
Headphones volume can be configured independently by spinning the Headphone volume control knob.
Inputs
Each Input that contains audio will be displayed here.
Audio Settings
Click the cog button to display the Audio Settings window.
Solo
Click the Solo button to preview Input audio in the Headphones without affecting the mix.
Solo audio is Post-Effects and Post-Fader and will be audible even if the Input is muted.
Right click the Solo button to Solo multiple inputs at the same time.
Mute
Click the speaker icon to Mute/Unmute an audio input.
Automatically Mix Audio
Click the Green and Orange Arrow button to enable/disable automatic mixing of audio.
This option is also known as "Follow" on traditional video switchers.
Audio Buses
vMix allows for up to eight independent audio buses (including Master) to allow for complex audio routing scenarios including mix minus.
M
M is the Master or Default audio mix and is sent to Recording, Streaming and External Output.
A, B, C, D, E, F, G
These are seven additional audio mixes that are sent to the respective Audio Output devices configured in the Audio Outputs settings window.
Click the M, A or B buttons underneath each input to configure each independent each mix. By default all new inputs will be sent to the Master mix only.
To enable or disable mixes C-G right click the A or B buttons to display a selection menu.
Sending Audio Bus to Master
Click the M button underneath buses A-G to include the audio in Master and Headphones.
Note: vMix Call Master/Headphones audio excludes any buses sent to master using this method as doing so would prevent mix minus from working correctly.
Note: The Speaker/Mute button controls the audio for all audio buses not just the Master or M bus.
Collapsing Mixers
All mixers can be collapsed and restored by right clicking the Title of the mixer.

Windows 10 and 11 PCs automatically check for updates and install any updates they find. You can take some control over this and have Windows install updates on your schedule, but these options are hidden. Windows Update really wants to automatically update on Windows
Professional, Enterprise, and Education editions of Windows 10 and Windows 11 have access to group policy and registry settings for this, but even Home editions of Windows 10 and Windows 11 give you a way to stop updates from automatically downloading.
Prevent Automatic Downloading of Updates on a Specific Connection

When you set a connection as metered, Windows wont automatically download updates on it. Windows will automatically set certain types of connections cellular data connections, for example as metered. However, you can set any connection as a metered connection.
So, if you dont want Windows 10 or Windows 11 automatically downloading updates on your home network connection, just set it as a metered connection. Windows will automatically download updates when you connect your device to an unmetered network, or when you set the network its connected to as unmetered again. And yes, Windows will remember this setting for each individual network, so you can disconnect from that network and reconnect all you like.
Do you have an Internet connection with limited data? Just mark it as metered and Windows 10 wont automatically download updates on it. If your connection offers unlimited downloads at a specific time for example, during the middle of the night you could mark the connection as unmetered occasionally at these times to download updates and mark it as metered after the updates are downloaded.

To change this option for a Wi-Fi network, open the Settings app, head to Network & Internet > Wi-Fi, and click the name of the Wi-Fi network youre currently connected to. Click the switch for Set as metered connection option on the properties page if youre on Windows On Windows 11 click the switch next to Metered Connection. This option only affects the Wi-Fi network youre currently editing, but Windows will remember this setting for each individual Wi-Fi network.
To change this option for a wired Ethernet network, open the Settings app, head to Network & Internet > Ethernet, and click the name of your Ethernet connection. Enable the Set as metered connection option on the properties page.
After enabling this option, Windows Update will say Updates are available. Well download the updates as soon as you connect to Wi-Fi, or you can download the updates using your data connection (charges may apply.) By marking a connection as metered, youve tricked Windows into thinking its a mobile data connectionfor example, you might be tethering your PC to your smartphone. You can click the Download button to download and install updates at your leisure.
Stop Windows Update From Automatically Rebooting Your Computer

So maybe you dont mind the automatic downloads, but you just dont want Windows to restart while youre in the middle of something. Windows 10 and 11 can help each lets you set a window of time each day called Active Hours, during which it wont automatically reboot.
To set Active Hours on Windows 10, head to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Click or tap Change Active Hours under Update Settings. From there, youll set the times you dont want Windows to automatically restart.
On Windows 11, head to Settings > Update & Security > Advanced Options and choose an option under Active Hours. By default, Windows 11 will automatically set your PCs active hours depending on your actual usage of your PC, but you can change it if you like.
You can also override those active hours to schedule certain reboots when an update is ready. You can read more about how to do that here.
If youre using Windows 11, you can pause updates for up to a five weeks at a time.
Prevent Windows Update From Installing Specific Updates and Drivers

If Windows 10 or 11 insist on installing a specific update or driver thats causing problems, you can prevent Windows Update from installing that particular update. Microsoft doesnt provide a built-in way to block updates and drivers from automatically being downloaded, but it does offer a downloadable tool that can block updates and drivers so Windows wont download them. This gives you a way to opt out of specific updates uninstall them and hide them from being installed until you unhide them.
Use Group Policy to Disable Automatic Updates (Professional Editions Only)

Update: This option, while it still exists, seems to no longer work starting in the Anniversary Update for Windows 10, but weve left it here in case anyone wants to try it. Proceed at your own risk.
You should really consider leaving automatic updates enabled for security reasons. But, there is an option that will let you choose how updates are installed on your own schedule, but its buried in Group Policy. Only Professional, Enterprise, and Education editions of Windows 10 have access to the Group Policy editor. To access the group policy editor, press Windows Key + R, type the following line into the Run dialog, and press Enter:
aunds-abbruch.deNavigate to Computer Configuration> Administrative Templates> Windows Components > Windows Update.
Locate the Configure Automatic Updates setting in the right pane and double-click it. Set it to Enabled, and then select your preferred setting. For example, you can choose Auto download and notify for install or Notify for download and notify for install. Save the change.
Visit the Windows Update pane, click Check for updates, and then select Advanced options. You should see your new setting enforced here. Youll also see a note saying Some settings are managed by your organization, informing you that these options can only be changed in Group Policy.
To disable this later, go back to the Group Policy editor, double-click the Configure Automatic Updates setting, and then change it from Enabled to Not configured. Save your changes, visit the Windows Update pane again, click Check for updates, and then select Advanced options. Youll see everything change back to the default setting. (Windows Update only seems to notice the setting change after you click Check for updates.)
Use the Registry to Disable Automatic Updates (Professional Editions Only)
Update: This option, while it still exists, seems to no longer work starting in the Anniversary Update for Windows 10, but weve left it here in case anyone wants to try it. Proceed at your own risk.
This setting can be configured in the registry, too. This registry hack does exactly the same thing as the above Group Policy setting. However, it also only seems to work on Professional editions of Windows
Download our Disable Automatic Updates on Windows 10 registry hack and double-click one of the included .reg files to make Windows Update notify for download and notify for install, auto download and notify for install, or auto download and schedule the install. Theres also a .reg file that will delete the registry value the other files create, allowing you to go back to the default settings. This only worked when we tried it on Windows 10 Pro, not Home.
After changing this option, visit the Windows Update pane in the Settings app and click Check for updates. You can then click Advanced options and youll see your new setting here. (You have to perform a check for updates before Windows Update notices your changed setting.)
If youd like to do this yourself, the exact setting youll need to change is under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindowsWindowsUpdateAU youll need to create the last few keys there. Create a DWORD value named AUOptions under the AU key and give it one of the following values:
(Notify for download and notify for install) (Auto download and notify for install) (Auto download and schedule the install)Theres another trick making the rounds for this. It involves disabling the Windows Update system service in the Windows Services administration tool. This isnt a good idea at all, and it will prevent your computer from receiving even crucial security updates. While it would be nice if Microsoft offered some more choice of when to install updates, you shouldnt opt out of security updates entirely. To prevent Windows from automatically downloading updates on any PC, just set its connection as metered.
MultiVersus Season 1 Patch Notes
MultiVersus, like many other multiplayer-focused live-service titles, will have Seasons that periodically introduce new content and characters, ways to play, and new cool things to unlock. All announced by game director Tony Huynh at EVO , Multiversus Season 1 is shaping up to be an exciting start for the community.
Season 1 begins on August 15th, , and the patch introducing it will come in two parts; one on that date, and the second coming a few days afterward (date TBA). MultiVersus Season 1 Release Date
MultiVersus Season 1 was initially scheduled for release on August 9, , but was delayed with an announcement on Twitter, with an amended Season 1 release date of August 15,
The Pre-Season battle pass extends up to August 15th, so be sure to complete it before a new battle pass drops.

There are four officially revealed characters for Season: Rick and Morty, Black Adam from Shazam, and Stripe from Gremlins.
Rick is a Mage/Ranged type character, and Morty is a Bruiser. Whilst their full moveset, and Black Adam and Stripe's details haven't been revealed, more information is incoming. Morty is joining MultiVersus on August Rick, Black Adam, and Stripe's release dates are currently unannounced.
Whilst other characters' voice lines have been datamined (and therefore likely coming soon in Season 1), the foul-mouthed space-faring duo are guaranteed to join your roster with Season 1.
Arcade Mode
An Arcade Mode has also been announced, and whilst details are sparse, it is indicated that this is a collection of battles against AI, progressing in difficulty, and can be played either solo or in 2v2 co-op.
New Cosmetics
Of course with a new Season comes a collection of cosmetic-only items that you can add to your collection and display to your friends/competitors.
These include several Icons themed to the various playable characters, Banners to equip beneath your username and player level, and costume variants. Two of which are on display in the image below; LeBron James dressed as Robin, and Bugs Bunny dressed as Brünnhilde (the Valkyrie).
Season 1 Battle Pass
The Season 1 Battle Pass is active now, and you can check out the full details on our MultiVersus Season 1 Battle Pass Rewards page.
The Battle Pass costs Gleamium, which equates to around $ It has 50 Tiers to work through, up from the 15 in the Pre-Season Battle Pass.
Ranked Mode
Alongside Arcade Mode, a Ranked Mode has been announced. Whilst the Open Beta does pit players against one another based on their MMR, a true Ranked Mode has been something many fans of the game have been hungering for, and the devs have taken notice.

General

- The patch will come in two parts. The first will be on August 15 and the second will be coming shortly afterwards (hopefully in the next few days). So not every change, but most will be in the August 15 patch.

- Free Rotation Characters now have an icon in character select to identify them

- Developer Note: Since players might not have access to fighters in specific classes other than Tank (thanks to Wonder Woman), we felt like relying on rerolls was not a reliable enough method to work around those missions.

- Clear The Air - Increased consistency on perk effect.
- We are aware of inconsistencies in this perk’s interaction with Velma’s speech bubbles and Batman’s Batarang. We will address these interactions in a future patch.
- Make it Rain, Dog! - Projectile speed is now properly applied to thrown items.
- Painted Target - Fixed an issue where projectiles weren’t applying bonus damage
- Retaliation Ready - Reduced unstacked gray health from 3 HP for 3 seconds to 1 HP for 3 seconds.

The goal of these changes was to make Arya’s combos more consistent and successful at lower skill levels.

Batman

Bugs Bunny
Bugs Bunny is a bit too safe in everything he does. We’ve given him some additional whiff punish windows to help address this.

- Finn now spawns with gold instead of 20

Iron Giant’s Neutral Special with stacked cooldown reduction and Velma are causing too few windows for opponents to counterplay. Updates to Iron Giant, global updates to perks, and Velma updates should help provide more windows of opportunity for opponents against Iron Giant.
